We recently installed new wooden windows and doors on a house in Baslow, Derbyshire. Set in the heart of the Peak District between Sheffield and Bakewell, Baslow is a very picturesque little village featuring a lovely Seventeenth Century bridge that crosses the river Derwent.
Our clients bought the property when it was used as an antiques showroom, and decided to convert the building into their home. We replaced the existing windows and doors on the kitchen/breakfast room with new wooden windows and doors that would complement the property and give them the look they desired.
Single Wooden Entrance Door
As you can see from the picture, we installed a great looking wooden entrance door which was painted in Pebble Grey (RAL 7032) for a subtle, modern look. The door contains 12 glass panel windows and letter box at the foot of the door.
Our single wooden doors have exceptional weather, security and thermal performance with insulated panels. It’s also really easy to maintain a door such as this, as the factory applied finish we use lasts around 6-9 before it will need to be recoated. When it is time to recoat, the door just needs a quick wipe down with a soft damp cloth and a new layer of Microporous paint directly on top.
We were also asked to fit wooden folding sliding doors into the Derbyshire property, again in white, with similar rectangular glass panels. In addition to the doors, we fitted timber flush casement windows to match.
Our clients were really pleased with the overall effect of the new wooden windows and doors on the property. The folding sliding doors provided them with the option to open their living space up to the garden, and the entrance door perfectly complimented the look and style of the house.
